Alternatives To Wedding Cakes
Do you want to do something different for your
wedding? Do you want people to talk about your wedding ceremony? To do
that, you may want to break with tradition and do something other than the
traditional wedding cake. But what else can you serve your guests?
Different Types of Cakes
The easiest way to break from tradition
without going to the extreme is to serve a cake other than the basic round
white wedding cake. You may want a chocolate cake or a strawberry cake or
even a spice cake.
Also consider having different shapes and
colors. You can use a variety of different shapes and almost any color of
icing.
Don't Serve Cake
If you want to be really different, do not
serve cake at all. How about wedding cupcakes or cookies or even donuts.
You can have your caterer arrange them into the shape of a cake with
tiered stands.
Another alternative is candy or chocolates.
You can once again have them arranged on tiers. If you are health
conscious, serve a variety of fruits with sauces for dipping.
Pudding or mouse is another choice. Serve them
in decorative containers or champagne glasses for added flair.
Other choices include cinnamon rolls,
soufflé's, éclairs, napoleons, cannolis, ding dongs, Twinkies, moon pies,
or brownies. Your options are endless. Use your imagination to get a
wedding that people will talk about for months or even years.
