Catering Tips
1. Check References. Don't
just ask for references from caterers, actually follow up and call them.
2. Find out what kind of
dinnerware and/or china will be used. The quality may vary from service to
service.
3. Be sure to get a quote in
writing which itemizes everything included in the price. Is cleanup
included? How many servers will be provided? How much are taxes and
gratuities.
4. Check and see that your
caterer has a permit or license. They are treated the same as restaurants
and must have a permit or license and be inspected regularly.
5. Check to see what will be
done with leftovers. If you are hiring a service for a wedding, have them
set aside a sampler for the bride and groom. They often will not have time
to enjoy the food at the reception.
6. If you aren't sure about
your caterer, schedule a tasting so that you can try before you commit.
7. Make sure that you include
a meal for your DJ, Band, Photographer etc. Confirm with your service
where the meals will be served. |
